It’s not all sunshine and beach weather in the Golden State, California’s climate is as diverse as its many wine styles!
One of its major influences is the California Current 🌊 a cold-water current that brings fog and clouds to the cool coastal regions, like Monterey County. It is home to the world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, such as this stunning ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Pinot Noir from Talbott Vineyards.
This wine is named after the legendary ‘Sleepy Hollow Vineyard’ in the Monterey’s Santa Lucia Highlands AVA, listed as one of California’s “Grand Cru” vineyards by Wine Enthusiast in 2016. Steep chalky hillsides and maritime influence create the perfect growing conditions Pinot Noir.
