Earlier this week Leo was recognized by @guardian for his competitive pumpkin growing, sharing the secrets of his success including hugging and speaking to his giant gourds daily. We are beyond proud of Leo and his golden seeds.

Day of the Dead is traditionally believed to be the day when deceased souls revisit the living on their way to Mictlan, the mythological pre-Hispanic afterlife. It is a day when we gather to welcome our past ancestors back into their homes serving mole, orange scented breads and other delicacies. We also burn copal or aromatic tree resin and toast the dead with mezcal. Making the alter and specialty foods is an annual event for us and one we look forward to with high regard. |
