Earth Month continues and the future is looking bright! 🌎😎
In 2014, we built out a system with 63kW of power generation. Which was perfect at the time, but wasn’t quite enough with our new cellar expansion…
We now have a system that adds 109kW to the existing one, reaching an overall total of 173kW. Thus, 98% of our power is now at peak use.
And that, my friends, is what we call the power of love (as far as Huey Lewis and the News songs are concerned)⚡️☀️🙌🏻

Tomorrow we’re celebrating our newly released 2020 vintage of our beloved Rosé for the Bay and to say we’re on cloud wine would be an understatement. (The rosé is better than that pun, we assure you)😉
Each year, we vinify a limited production of Rosé for the Bay and donate 100% of winery proceeds to San Francisco Baykeeper in support of their efforts to protect our Bay. Just last year, Obsidian Wine Co. donated over $75,000 based on your purchases of the 2019 Rosé for the Bay.
Join us live from our cellar TOMORROW, April 16th at 5pm PDT / 8pm EDT as we taste our newly released 2020 “Rosé for the Bay” and discuss the important work that we fund by supporting San Francisco Baykeeper.

Yesterday the wine team reviewed our annual barrel experiment. Every vintage we age the same wine in various new barrels from different cooperages to track the differences we notice. Diligently repeating this exercise every year to maintain our knowledge base helps in making the best possible winemaking decision on how much or how little new oak to use, and which cooperages are best for us. |
