Say hello to one of our awesome owners, Bob Shepard!

Bob has been with Amici Cellars for over 21 years after developing a passion for wine with his wife Celia Shepard and friend/co-owner John Harris. Amici started as a small company, but quickly grew to what it is today with the help of Bob. He now spends his time focusing on building relationships with distributors, retail partners, and restaurants around the country, and through it all has maintained his passion for wine.

Bob’s favorite wines this summer are the 2020 Amici Sauvignon Blanc and the 2020 Olema Cotes de Provence Rose. His fun fact? He was a member of San Jose State University's D1 golf team, and occasionally you can still catch him out on the golf course today!

Bob has been instrumental in the success of Amici Cellars by building relationships with clients as well as our team. Here's to many more years of success!

From our vantage point at 1,250 ft. we have a perfect view of the dormant volcano that graces Mount Veeder. While the dormant volanco is a key geological feature, the soil of this AVA is comprised mostly of raised seabed. A true rarity of Napa Valley, Mount Veeder is the only mountain AVA that can claim this unique terrior, making wines crafted from these rugged slopes truly one-of-a-kind. |

While 2021 marks Dan Petroski's 15th anniversary at Larkmead, he surprisingly has not been in the wine biz his entire career. #LookIntoLarkmead with us for tidbits on our staff, like the fact that Dan played football for Columbia University in the City of New York (go Lions!) and worked for the The New York Times.

With summer in full swing, we are excited to announce the release of the first wine from our 125th vintage: 2020 Tocai Friulano.
Available exclusively to our members, Tocai Friulano has been a part of Larkmead's heritage for decades, due to the three-quarter-acre plot of heritage Tocai that sits in front of the Solari family home at Larkmead. Our proprietor, Kate Solari Baker, fondly recalls that her mother, Polly Solari, refused to let her husband, Larry, remove the old vines in front of her kitchen windows because they provided privacy and a beautiful view. Larry begrudgingly abided by Polly's wish even though he knew the land could be better utilized if planted to more profitable varieties. As a tribute to her mother's wise request, a painting of Polly (by her daughter Kate) adorns the bottle and reminds us each summer of the tranquility and beauty of our historic property. |
