On the eve of his 82nd Birthday, Lee Sr. disked Jackass Hill for his 28th year yesterday. As per tradition, he enjoyed a bottle (or two) of Jackass Hill Zinfandel to celebrate.

Yesterday the wine team reviewed our annual barrel experiment. Every vintage we age the same wine in various new barrels from different cooperages to track the differences we notice. Diligently repeating this exercise every year to maintain our knowledge base helps in making the best possible winemaking decision on how much or how little new oak to use, and which cooperages are best for us. |
